SENTINEL Factory
Purpose-built manufacturing facility in Comuna Ciurila, Cluj County, Romania — 2,400 m2 across 8 zones including production hall, cleanroom, testing lab, warehouse, GPU datacenter, and solar roof.
Facility Overview
The SENTINEL factory is located in Comuna Ciurila, Cluj County, Romania — 15 km south-west of Cluj-Napoca. The 2,400 m² facility is divided into 8 purpose-designed zones, each optimised for a specific stage of the production pipeline.
Zone 1 — Exterior & Solar Roof
The building features a flat industrial roof with 200 kWp of monocrystalline solar panels, providing ~240 MWh/year. Grid connection serves as backup and overnight load, targeting net-zero production by Year 2. External areas include loading docks, emergency access, visitor parking, and secured perimeter fencing with CCTV.
Zone 2 — Production Hall (1,200 m²)
The main production floor houses the assembly lines for all five SENTINEL models — WH, AG, MK, HM, and D. Key equipment installed:
- CNC 5-axis machining centre — 6061-T6 aluminium frame fabrication
- Laser cutter — sheet metal and composite panels
- 6-axis robot welding cell — frame joining and SENTINEL-LINK housing fabrication
- Battery pack assembly station with spot-welding rig
- Final assembly stations with overhead gantry and guided fixture tooling
Zone 3 — Cleanroom (ISO 7)
An ISO 7-rated cleanroom houses the SMT pick-and-place line for PCB assembly, the SENTINEL-LINK connector gold-plating station, and precision sensor calibration. Laminar airflow, positive pressure, and gowning protocols ensure zero-defect electronics production.
Zone 4 — Testing Laboratory
Every SENTINEL unit passes through the testing lab before shipping. Capabilities include:
- Environmental test chamber — IP67/IP68 ingress, thermal cycling (−40°C to +85°C)
- EMC/EMI chamber — MIL-STD-461G compliance for SENTINEL-MK
- Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) — dimensional quality control
- 45-point functional burn-in test — actuators, sensors, compute, comms
- Live obstacle course for autonomous navigation validation
Zone 5 — Warehouse & Logistics
Raw materials inbound, finished goods outbound. Racked storage for BOM components, SENTINEL-LINK modules, and ready-to-ship units. FIFO inventory management integrated with the factory ERP.
Zone 6 — GPU Datacenter
On-site compute cluster for AI model training, inference benchmarking, and fleet OTA update staging. Core hardware:
| Component | Specification |
|---|---|
| Compute | NVIDIA DGX A100 — 8x A100 80 GB per node |
| Interconnect | NVLink 600 GB/s + InfiniBand HDR 200 Gb/s |
| Storage | NetApp AFF A800 — NVMe all-flash, 100 TB usable |
| Network | Dual 100 GbE uplink |
| Cooling | Direct liquid cooling + hot/cold aisle containment |
This infrastructure is also offered to investors as GPU compute credits via QubitPage Foundation.
Zone 7 — Office Block
Two-storey office wing for engineering, R&D, admin, finance, and HR. Includes a conference/demo room for investor visits and customer presentations. Direct access to the production floor via observation gallery.
Zone 8 — R&D Prototyping Lab
Dedicated space for next-generation SENTINEL module development. Equipped with 3D metal printer (SLM), rapid-prototyping FDM printers, electronics workbenches, and a small autonomous navigation test arena.
