This is a used “The Neutrino Group” (TNG) Revolution Grand Steno machine. These are rare but very reliable writers with many backup options. I am not a steno expert by any means, but I come across many of them and sell them somewhat frequently. This is an ergonomic unit that has a split keyboard. The company that makes these is no longer around, so many are after these for spares/parts/etc.These are used by court reporters/stenographers. This is a rather unique machine as it has an ergonomic setup with a Viliv Portable Computer that has software on it that captures the keyed in data. The battery on the back of the Viliv computer has broken tabs, therefore some tape was needed to hold it in place. This likely happened because the velcro used to hold the computer on place is very strong and the previous owner may have pulled too hard to remove it from the stand which led to the tabs on the battery breaking off. Regardless of that, it stays in place fine when taped so should not cause too much of an issue. I also see that batteries for this unit are still available online so it could be replaced as needed. Care should be taken when removing the computer from the stand or a new/lighter grip velcro solution should be installed.All of the keys can be adjusted as far as orientation (left/right) goes and they all have felt pads on them. They require a very light short-stroke, much lighter than other steno machines that I’ve sold in the past. There’s a cable on the back of the bracket that connects to the power input on the computer, the main power supply connects to the back of the right-part steno.The computer powers on properly, it has Windows XP installed and boots into the OS. Once in the OS, there’s an icon on the desktop that loads the steno software. With the software open, I was able to capture key strokes from the unit with no issues. All of the keys recorded properly on the screen of the unit. The computer has touchscreen capability and using the included stylus it was very easy to navigate through the operating system and software.Please note that steno machines occasionally need to be tuned and serviced, I have no history on what the usage or service history on this machine was. All software on the computer is sold in “AS-IS-AS-INSTALLED” condition, I do not have any licenses, media, registration keys, etc for anything installed on the computer. I do not have any ownership history.
