Thank you for visiting Patra’s Atelier La Fleur de Poupée! Very lovely 28” DEP Jumeau: The DEP heads were commissioned by Jumeau of France from the manufacturer Simon & Halbig of Germany. This commission occurred right before Jumeau became part of The Société Française de Fabrication de Bébés et Jouets : SFBJ in 1899. Her head is in lovely condition with one small wig pull, no other damage. She has no hairlines, no cracks, no chips. She does have a mold “stretch” that is seen at the back of the head. This is not damage but was made during the molding process in manufacture. It’s not broken, not a separation, just a slightly thicker portion of the surface. This does not affect the integrity of the bisque. She has her original deep dark brown glass Sleep eyes that open and close. Replaced hair eyelashes to the original wax of her eyes lids. Her ears are pierced and I’ve given her little blue earrings to suit her costume. Her original antique ball jointed body has Some paint loss, a bit of judicious repairs at the ball joints at the tops of legs where it fits into the hip joint and a tad bit of judicious in-painting on the body. DEP Jumeau means that the head was made by Simon&Halbig for Jumeau. Jumeau then added a body. Some of these dolls are stamped with the Jumeau stamp and others are not. This one does not have the stamp. I have another listed that has the Tete Jumeau permanent stamp on her head, as well as the original Jumeau label on the body. That doll is more expensive than this one, but both have the heads by Simon Halbig that Jumeau commissioned. This gorgeous doll wears antique clothing, including a white antique lace trimmed dress, a white antique lace trimmed chemise and white antique lace trimmed bloomers. As well, she wears antique stockings and antique brown leather bootines that have had some leather repair and are stamped on the soles of the boots. She also wears a real straw hat, trimmed in wide blue satin ribbon and little blue satin ribbon ties. She also wears blue satin hair ribbons and has a blue satin sash and blue satin ribbon corsage. Her wig is a replacement. It suits her coloring and matches her eye brows very well. Pictures are an integral part of the description. Please do look at them closely.
