Stripe charges 1.5–2.9% per transaction and EU SCA throws 8% of payments into 3-D Secure friction. Settling in USDC on Arc costs us cents per transaction, lets us pay hosts the same day, and means we can offer a real on-chain refund guarantee. We may add Stripe later — but never as a primary lane.

Every active session pings our oracle every 60 seconds. Three consecutive missed pings pauses your bill; six triggers an automatic refund of the remaining escrow to your wallet. The host's bond also gets slashed (50% to you / 30% to platform / 20% burned).
