eBay Listing Title: REAL USA Pitney Bowes 78P-K Black 140ml Ink Cartridge CG331A Connect 1000 Sealed Notes on Listing Title: REAL means that unlike many other “78P-K” ink cartridges being sold on eBay, these are actual genuine original inks made and packaged by Pitney-Bowes. Some other listings show you a cartridge that’s not in a bag, that at first glance looks like the real thing. But if you look closely at the label, you’ll see it’s not a genuine new 78P-K you’re looking at. Those selling those imitation inks probably didn’t want to spend the money it would take to “fake” a bag that looks like the original one supplied by Pitney-Bowes. And you should assume that an ink shown as bagged is shown that way because the bag helps preserve the quality of the ink cartridge inside the bag. In fact, of the inks I’m making available through this listing, 5 are in intact bags and weigh 7.2 to 7.3 ounces each; the 6th one, which I’m offering as a no-cost “bonus” under certain terms described below, weighs 6.8 ounces. That’s enough of a difference to suggest that an ink cartridge of this kind will dry out if not packed in a sealed bag — and I’d guess the drying out would be even faster for those non-genuine inks shown in some other listings as having no bag on them at all. So there are really several reasons why, even if some inks might be priced less than mine (most in fact aren’t as of when this listing will appear on eBay), there are multiple reasons, e.g., genuine vs. “aftermarket”, sealed vs. unsealed, etc., why you are better off buying the genuine, original, ink cartridges as made and bagged by Pitney-Bowes, that I’m selling here. USA means that while this product is made in Singapore, I’m shipping these from my California USA location, where they had been originally bought by a government agency for its own use in this area, then sold off as surplus to their ongoing operations when they no longer were using such ink cartridges. Why you should care: Many of these inks being sold on eBay are being shipped from the UK (“the United Kingdom of England and Scotland”). So if you’re in a hurry to get your ink, so you can continue to print postage with it, you might want to buy from a seller that’s located in the USA and is commited to shipping within one (1) business day of completed payment — and for smaller items like this, can often ship the same business day as paid, especially if paid for by noon PDT (as of the date of this listing; if by the time you are reading this California is now on Pacific Standard Time — which won’t be for several months after this listing begins — please read this paragraph as “Pacific Standard Time” and make the correct adjustment to the wording here if I haven’t gotten to it sooner). PHOTO NOTES This listing is for the sale of 5 ink cartridges, sold by the “each” rather than as a lot of 5; plus a sixth “bonus” ink cartridge, which I didn’t “lump in” with the other 5 because the protective plastic bag on that 6th one has a tear at one end. Not a long tear, but enough for air to “get in” and possibly have caused some drying out of the ink in that torn bag that you’d not see as much of, if at all, regarding the other 5 (see comment in the “Notes about Listing Title” section, discussing the meaning of “REAL” in the listing title, about how the torn-bag one weighs a little less than the still-sealed-bag ones). Whoever first buys at least 3 of the 5 still sealed-bag inks gets #6 at no extra cost. I don’t know the condition of that one (other than as noted above, it does weigh less than the others do), so it’s being sold “as is” with no right to return any inks that came with it on the basis of being unsatisfied with the torn-bag one. Once there are less than 3 untorn bagged inks left, I will reword the listing about how I’ll deal with the opened-bag ink if the next buyer buys only 1 of the 2 then remaining sealed-bag inks. You will also see that the first 5 inks shown in the photos have one or two removable round “stickers” on them, which I put on them, to show that I’m not just shooting the same single bagged ink over and over again as if I was actually shooting more than one. After the 6th photo of that first bagged ink, I took a photo of the grey backdrop, then an overall photo of the 2d ink followed by a backdrop photo, and so on through the single photo of the 5th sealed ink. So regarding the 2d through 5th inks shown, I didn’t take as many photos as of those others as I did of that first one, because the multiple views of the first ink are fully and fairly representative of all the sides of the other 4 sealed inks. After another grey-background shot, the rest of the photos (9) are all of the 6th “bonus” ink, including showing the torn end from several different angles. That ink’s bag has no circle sticker on it at all, which is how you can easily tell in the photos it’s the one with the torn end being offered as a “bonus” item here.
