Vintage Birmingham Stove & Range (BSR) Red Mountain Series #8 cast iron skillet in excellent condition, no chips, cracks, repairs or other damage Restored and lightly seasoned, sits flat on a glasstop stove, no spin, rock or wobble. Measures 10½” in diameter and 15″ in diameter to the end of the handle. Early model with small pours and marked 8HH. PLEASE NOTE: This item has been stripped to bare metal in a lye bath, restored to condition by either vinegar, citric acid bath or electrolysis, and lightly seasoned with one coat of a blend of beeswax and pure leaf lard. Because this item has been in storage in a dry but not completely climate controlled environment, some very light surface oxidation may have occurred in spots. This is easily removed with a good mildly abrasive scrub from something like steel wool or an SOS pad. There is nothing wrong or harmful, it’s just the nature of cast iron. Please keep in mind that because we offer free shipping on all items, the shipping method and carrier is OUR CHOICE.
