Item description:Wonderful, large Murano blown glass sculpture depicting an elephant, unsigned and attributable to the famous Murano glass master Archimede Seguso. Wonderful elephant depicted in an extremely unusual pose, with the trunk completely raised and the four legs very close together, very similar to the pose of a circus elephant balanced on a circus pedestal intent on greeting the audience. The glass is heavy and solid, considering that the sculpture weighs over 5Kg, pink in color tending to purple on the inside, then enriched with colloidal gold, incorporated into a layer of transparent external glass with the sommerso technique. Finally, excellent measurements of the sculpture which is very large, 35 centimeters high and 27.5 centimeters wide, which obviously increases the value of the object.Useful information for evaluating the object:In the photos, immediately below this description, we have put the first 4 maximum results achieved by the artist as found on Art Price and the photos of other glass animals offered on 1stDibs at very high prices, to give a general idea of the importance of Archimede Seguso. Then we have put the photo of a small elephant in transparent amber glass and gold leaf aventurine, only 13 centimeters, which was sold for €300 plus the auction rights of 25-30%, another elephant instead, with a workmanship and coloring more similar to that of ours, larger than the other, but still smaller than ours, quoted at €800-1000. Finally we have put a small sculpture, very similar in colors and in the type of workmanship to our elephant, but of significantly smaller dimensions, offered on 1stDibs at almost €400.
